TurkeyBall Fun and a Season of Thanks

Southside Elementary wrapped up the season of gratitude with two heartwarming traditions!

Every November, Southside Elementary buzzes with excitement for TurkeyBall, the beloved annual dodgeball tournament for Grades 3-5. Student teams, creatively named after Thanksgiving favorites like the Turkey Legs, Pumpkin Pies, and Cranberries, battled through bracket rounds. This year’s champions were the Mashed Potatoes! The biggest excitement came during the Final Showdown, where teachers faced the student teams and claimed a 14-0 victory in a spirited, laughter-filled match.

The celebration of gratitude continued as principals surprised staff with “Thankful” certificates made from 196 heartfelt notes submitted by parents and students. Each message shared personal reasons they appreciate a particular teacher or staff member, filling the room with warm smiles and meaningful moments.
