Southside is participating in Bullying Prevention Month with a variety of activities.  The entire school showed their Tiger Spirit with "Southside is Stomping Out Bullying" Week, October 7-11th.  Students and staff were able to dress in a variety of ways to show their support of bullying prevention, including wearing blue on October 7th for National #blueup Day.

Each classroom will also participate in a lesson this month with Mrs. Horne, School Counselor.  Topics will include the definitions of bully and bystander, the different types of bullying and how to respond, and team building activities to cultivate positive relationships.

Also, all students had a "hand" in two bulletin boards in the school.  Kindergarten - 1st grade colored special handprints, as we learned how hands were only used for helping, not harming.  2nd - 5th grades signed a pledge that stated the following:  I pledge to be respectful of others and stand up against bullying whenever and wherever I see it.

Together, Tigers can STOMP OUT BULLYING!
